NZ man fights Cambodia rape conviction

A New Zealand man jailed in Cambodia for raping five young women has made a second appeal against his conviction, more than a year after protesting against his first appeal hearing, which was held in secret.

Graham Cleghorn, 60, is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted in February 2004 of raping the women, who had all been working at his home in the tourist town of Siem Reap.

The former Angkor temple tour guide has repeatedly denied the rape charges, saying he was framed by an activist group involved in helping to prosecute sex crime cases.

Cleghorn's second appeal hearing was held on Wednesday.

The court is expected to announce the verdict next Tuesday
